Playing Catch Up - PART III

So October was a BUSY month! We had stuff going almost every weekend - but it sure was fun! As the weather in West Texas continued to cool and get nicer every day, we spent more and more time outdoors - usually up at the base enjoy the evergreen turf. (No bugs and springy!) Anais really loves kites - so we flew her kite when the wind picked up -which it often did. Giselle enjoys watching Anais play almost anything, so she was delighted when Anais ran around chasing the kite as Francois wielded it higher into the air. Kite flying is FUN!

Anais enjoyed going to Kids Day Out at the Baptist church we had been attending. I came up to watch them pick pumpkins from the"Pumpkin Patch". Anais really LOVED her pumpkin!

The Friday before the last weekend in October, the ARMY had a Family Fun Day. The guys got to have off work and the Battalion provided food and fun for everybody. Anais got to play all kinds of games and got showered with attention from her "uncles". We did end up getting sunburned (everybody but Giselle) at least a little, but no real bad damage done. As soon as they were released for the day, we headed towards Dallas for a high school choir reunion.

Anais and her daddy! What a doll.

My good friend, Erin, and I decided we would really love to see our old friends from our high school jazz choir, so we organized a Sound Invention and Showstoppers reunion from our years in the group. I had a blast! It was so incredible to get together with everyone and see how people had inevitably changed (or not). I realized how lucky I am to have met such an amazing group of friends - of which I still share some close and very valuable friendships.

And to top off the month was Halloween! Anais had a dress up day at her school, for which she chose a princess ballerina as her costume! She had a great time dressing up and playing princess all day.
After the work day, the MI battalion also had a trick or treat even near the HQ building. We went out there as well (no forethought of how much candy we were getting that we really didn't need). Anais chose to modify her outfit, under the same general theme, and we dressed Giselle up as a little Dalmatian. They both enjoyed playing with other kids and seeing the other costumes. And we, of course, just enjoy playing with and watching them!
